About this Event
The Chinese New Year celebrations at Pagoda Arts conclude with The Fire Horse Gala, an evening event showcasing the richness and diversity of Chinese performing arts through music and movement.
The programme brings together expressive Chinese dance, meditative and dynamic Tai Chi performances, and a live concert by the award-winning Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra. Together, these elements reflect the balance of physical discipline, artistic expression and musical tradition that sits at the heart of Chinese culture.
The Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra performs repertoire rooted in traditional Chinese music while also drawing on contemporary arrangements and cross-cultural influences. Based in Liverpool, the orchestra has a long history of working with professional musicians from across the UK and internationally, and is recognised for supporting young people to develop high-level musical skills alongside cultural understanding and confidence.
The Fire Horse Gala offers audiences an opportunity to experience Chinese New Year as a shared cultural moment, combining professional and youth-led performance in an inclusive and celebratory setting. It provides a fitting conclusion to Pagoda Arts’ Year of the Fire Horse programme, highlighting both artistic excellence and the role of culture in bringing communities together.
